The new Forms app is here (for Windows)

The new Forms application is officially released, making it easier than ever to create surveys and forms with a few simple clicks. No longer do you need to navigate to the Forms website, as this convenient app provides a more efficient path to form creation. Once you get the app, you can enjoy the ease of building your quizzes directly from there.

Until now, creating a form/quiz required access to the Forms website. I’m happy to share that we've now streamlined the process with the new Forms app, so you can create surveys and forms with just a few clicks.
 
Within the Forms app, you will enjoy the same experience as on the Forms website. You can create forms/quizzes, choose questions from AI suggestions and select from a variety of themes. Once you finish creating your form you can effortlessly distribute it from the app.

Note: Currently, the Forms app requires an internet connection, so you can’t use it offline.

Within the app, users can access all the functions familiar from the website, such as selecting from AI-generated question suggestions and applying various themes to customize their forms. After crafting your form or quiz, distributing it is straightforward and can be done right from within the app. However, it is important to note that an active internet connection is required to use the app, so offline use is not yet supported.

Downloading the Forms app is straightforward. You can easily install it from the Microsoft 365 Store or directly from your web browser. Whenever you visit the Forms website, a small icon in your address bar will indicate the app's availability, allowing for a hassle-free installation process to your PC or device.

Microsoft Forms offers a wide array of applications, including creating custom surveys, polls, and questionnaires, which can be distributed across various devices. Responses are tracked in real time, with built-in analytics readily available to review the data. Additionally, results can be exported to Excel, allowing for further analysis and usage within educational or business settings.

Forms is applicable to various sectors, including educational institutions, businesses, and government offices, streamlining their data collection processes. The tool integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365 apps, enhancing overall productivity for users. While some integrations are being rolled out, the full suite, including compliance, security, and privacy features, mirrors the high standards expected from Microsoft 365 apps. This ensures secure data collection, eliminating the need for external survey solutions and complicated custom tools, simplifying administration and collaboration for IT teams.
