In this session we take a look at the latest updates for Microsoft Entra’s authentication options. Including an update to the Microsoft authenticator which introduces number matching as an option. In this video I’ll show you everything you need to know about getting ready and how to implement this cool feature update. Microsoft Authenticator is a multifactor app that provides an extra layer of security when signing into your Microsoft account. It helps protect you by requiring a second form of authentication, such as a PIN or fingerprint scan, to verify your identity before granting access to your account.
The latest features in the Microsoft Authenticator include:
- Quick Sign-In: This feature allows users to sign in with just one tap on their mobile device instead of having to type in their password every time they need access.
- Push notifications for verification codes: Instead of typing out the code sent via text message or email each time you need to authenticate, this new feature will automatically send it as a push notification directly from the app itself.
- Secure Passwordless Login: With this feature enabled, users can log into websites and applications without needing to remember complex passwords – all they have to do is approve the login request via their authenticator app!
- Support for Multiple Accounts and Devices: The new version now supports multiple accounts and devices so users can easily switch between them without having to re-authenticate each time they use another device or service associated with their Microsoft Account credentials
