They are trained on a wide variety of internet text, but unlike some AI models, they don't know specifics about which documents were in their training set or any specifics about the individual documents.</p><p><br></p><p>These models, like OpenAI's GPT-3 or GPT-4, learn patterns in data and generate predictions based on those patterns. For example, if you input a sentence or phrase, the model will predict what comes next, based on its training. This allows it to generate human-like text that can be used in a variety of applications, from drafting emails to writing code.</p><p><br></p><p>LLMs are &quot;large&quot; in the sense that they have a vast number of parameters. These parameters are the aspects of the model that are learned from the training data. A model with more parameters can generally learn more complex patterns, but also requires more data to train effectively.</p><p><br></p><p>As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, some of the most advanced LLMs had billions or even trillions of parameters.
