Discover seamless transfer of Word documents to Kindle directly from your Microsoft Word for Windows and Mac!

Hello esteemed readers! Today, we're thrilled to bring news about a new addition to Microsoft's Word product. Authored by Chelsea Fesik, a Product Manager on the Natural User Interface team at Microsoft, the blog post introduces a new feature that provides for effortless document transfer from Microsoft's Word applications to Kindle.

The article announces that you can now easily send Word files from both Word for Windows and Word for Mac directly to your favorite Kindle device or app. This fantastic functionality allows you to take and carry your Word files everywhere, convenient for reading on any supported Kindle device or app. This is a dream come true for Kindle users who would love to read their Word documents on their Kindle devices.

A notable aspect of this new feature is users' ability to choose the appearance of their document content upon transfer to the Kindle device or app. The choices include an option that simulates a Kindle book, best suited for text with less complex formatting and smaller screens. This option allows adjustable font sizes and page layouts and even supports handwritten sticky notes with Kindle Scribe. The other option likens to a printed document, retaining the original formatting and layout:s being ideal for text with more advanced formatting and embedded tables.

To utilize this new feature, follow the simple steps: Go to File > Export > Send to Kindle. Next, in the right-side pane, click on the Send to Kindle button. You will then sign in with your Amazon credentials, choose a format for your file and click Send. The document will then appear in your Kindle library after a few minutes.

It is worth mentioning that this feature is available in specific versions of Word for Windows and Word for Mac, and Word for the web will soon be updated with this feature too. However, there are a few known issues to be aware of, with a notable one being the current inability to sync ink annotations and edits made to the Word document on Kindle devices or apps. This feature, though, is under development and expected to be offered in the future.

Lastly, Microsoft encourages users to provide their feedback via Help > Feedback as they are eager to hear from them. More information can be found here.
