Microsoft RBAC (Role Based Access Control) is a security model that provides access control to various resources in Microsoft systems. It allows for users to be assigned different levels of access based on their roles within an organization, making it easier to manage and assign permissions. This in turn helps create more secure environments, as administrators are able to grant or deny certain privileges depending on the user’s role. Additionally, RBAC can also help reduce administrative workloads by allowing administrators to quickly grant or revoke access with just a few clicks.
In this short I’ll explain what Role Based Access Control is and why you need toknow it in both Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra. Having too many globaladministrators who have too many permissions can cause serious security issues. So instead why not consider assigning Roles to users that best fit their job roles. For example a SharePoint or Teams administrator. In this short, I’ll explain all you need to know in order to get started.
