The August 2023 update of Power BI has introduced several new features including a new layout switcher, updated On-Object Interaction, changes to the ORDERBY function, and a pick of the Editor’s visualizations for the quarter.

Reporting: New layout switcher, bubble range scaling setting and updates on On-Object Interaction have been introduced. Also, on-object format sub-selections are now supported in spotlight and focus mode.
Modeling: The ORDERBY function has been updated.
Data Connectivity: A new modern data connectivity and discovery experience in Dataflows is introduced along with an update for Lakehouses (Connector).
Service: Direct Lake datasets now support XMLA Write. There's automatic replica synchronization for Dataset Scale-Out.
Mobile: Users have the option to choose their startup content.
Developers: Published AppSource visuals now generate leads in the Partner centre and CRM.
Visualizations: New visuals including Editor’s pick of the quarter - Drill Down Combo Bar PRO, Sunburst Chart and xViz Performance Flow.
