Pipelines in Power Pages (preview)

We are pleased to announce the Power Platform Pipelines within Power Pages in preview.

Pipeline with Power Pages makes the solution deployment process easier and allows you to automate the deployment of websites from development environments to target environments like test and production.

 

 

Microsoft has officially announced the general availability of pipelines within Power Platform, aiming to democratize Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) for its customers. Pipelines aim to simplify deployment automation in Managed Environments, targeting a wide range of users including makers, admins, and developers. With just a few minutes of setup, pipelines can be run within development environments or PAC CLI, providing an intuitive in-product experience that guides the deployment process. 

 

The launch comes sooner than expected due to positive customer adoption and feedback during the preview stage. Microsoft assures continued support and improvements, with new features like scheduling deployments and pipelines extensibility in the pipeline.

 

The scheduling feature allows updates to be deployed during non-business hours to minimize disruption, while pipelines extensibility will enable custom logic to be run before and after a deployment using Power Automate cloud flows.

 

Delegated deployments, a feature set to be launched after scheduling and extensibility, will prevent makers from customizing directly in production. Also, pipelines will require access to Managed Environments, a change set to be enforced in the second half of 2023.

Microsoft has released documentation and videos to aid customers in learning more about pipelines within Power Platform. They encourage ongoing feedback from users to help improve this new tool.
