It provides customers with the ability to access Azure services at a discounted rate when they leverage their existing Windows Server or SQL Server on-premises licenses.&#160;</p><p>With Azure Hybrid Benefit, customers can use their existing licenses to pay for Azure services, enabling them to save up to 40 percent in some cases. Additionally, customers can use the Azure Hybrid Benefit to take advantage of other Azure services such as Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and Azure Active Directory. However, there are a few things you need to be aware of when using this benefit&#58;</p><p><br></p><ol><li><b>Eligibility</b>&#58; Ensure you have eligible on-premises licenses with Software Assurance or qualifying subscription licenses.</li><li><b>Conversion Ratios</b>&#58; Understand the conversion ratios. AHB allows different ratios for different types of virtual machines.</li><li><b>License Mobility</b>&#58; Be aware that SQL Server licenses must be covered by Software Assurance in order to be eligible for License Mobility, a requirement to use the Azure Hybrid Benefit.</li><li><b>No Double Dipping</b>&#58; You cannot use the same licenses on-premises and in Azure at the same time if you're using the Azure Hybrid Benefit.</li><li><b>Region Limitation</b>&#58; Azure Hybrid Benefit usage will be audited and reported on a regional basis. This means you need to ensure you're using the benefit in the regions it is allowed.</li><li><b>License Compliance</b>&#58; It's your responsibility to ensure that you're in compliance with all licensing rules when using Azure Hybrid Benefit. Microsoft may audit your use of this benefit.</li><li><b>Mixing Licenses</b>&#58; Understand that you can't mix licenses within a single VM. For instance, you can't use some cores with the Azure Hybrid Benefit and some cores without the benefit within a single machine.</li><li><b>VM Size</b>&#58; Be aware that Azure Hybrid Benefit applies to specific VM sizes. You need to ensure that the VM size you're using is applicable to the benefit.</li><li><b>SQL Server Benefits</b>&#58; If you're using SQL Server, be aware that Azure Hybrid Benefit also provides benefits for SQL Server, including cost savings for high availability and disaster recovery.&#160; &#160;</li><li><b>Plan for Retirements</b>&#58; Microsoft typically announces when it will retire a benefit.
